Players can sockets gems at any time by simply dragging the specified gem to a weapon or armor piece they want to socket it to, provided there are empty gem sockets available. Jeweler NPC Guide How to Socket Gems Drag Gems from the Inventory Players will need to bring the required gems along with a specified amount of gold to complete this transaction. Gems can be upgraded to higher tiers by way of gem crafting at the Jeweler. How to Upgrade Gems Visit the Jeweler for Gem Crafting Players will need to level up and use increasingly valuable materials to craft and use each tier of gem. There are currently 5 gem upgrade tiers in Diablo 4: Crude, Chipped, Regular, Flawless, and Royal gems.
